FTPWith many projects we develop we give our clients access to FTP. Sites such as Record Scout mean the members can upload their audio files to our servers. When we develop a website for a client using FTP they can change and upload files that their visitors can later download. FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. A standard method for sending files from one computer to another on TCP/IP networks such as the Internet. FTP is also the name of the command used to initiate transfer of files. The website we develop will mean your FTP access is ftp.yourdomain.yourextension The website will live in a folder called ‘htdocs’ If you visit the web servers FTP via Internet Explorer or similar then you can just copy and files from your computer to the server and visa versa as long as you have the permissions to do this. If you can not use your website browser then there are many software packages that you can use instead. A free one we like to recommend is found online at ftpx.com For essexuncovered.com we developed a custom ASP photo gallery. The gallery worked perfectly, but as we maintained the photo gallery and updated the database manually we were required to develop a solution with login and facilities to update. We developed a photo gallery for a nightclub chain with three separate clubs, who wanted a photo gallery for all three with photo rating and top twenty.
A free downloadable version of the photo gallery will be coming soon. If you would like to use the photo gallery then please contact us. Find out more about the Affordable
